Katie + Amnon Rodan

Katie and Amnon Rodan support a variety of causes principally through The Rodan Family Foundation which they established in May 2018. Funds are targeted to be spent down through 2035 in an effort to drive strategic, radical change in the founders’ lifetimes. The foundation is a family affair—both children Elana Rodan Schuldt & Daniela Rodan are actively involved.

To create lasting change, Katie and Amnon think outside the box across every dimension, and continue to adapt over time. They partner with innovative organizations, leaders and funders to help carry their mission forward.

Amnon is the former chairman of Rodan + Fields, driving the company’s strategic vision and growth. He also served as board chair of the Rodan + Fields Prescription for Change Foundation, which provides young people with life-changing empowerment programs. He retired in 2020 to focus his attention and energy on the Rodan Family Foundation.

Katie is a skincare entrepreneur and practicing dermatologist. She is the co-founder of Proactiv, the acne management system that disrupted the market for acne products, and Rodan + Fields, the market leader in at-home, anti-aging skincare for all.

Debra + Leon Black

Debra and Leon Black support numerous medical and other causes throughout the United States. Debra sits on the Board of Overseers of Weill Cornell Medicine, The Metropolitan Museum of Art, and Rockefeller University. Leon is Co-Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Apollo Global Management. He also is the chairman of the Museum of Modern Art (“MoMA”) and serves as a trustee of Mount Sinai Hospital, where his family launched The Black Family Stem Cell Institute.

In 2007, the Blacks co-founded the Melanoma Research Alliance (“MRA”), which is the largest private funder of Melanoma research worldwide, having committed over $150 million in funding to advance understanding of the disease. MRA has helped fund 12 drugs approved by the Federal Drug Administration (“FDA”) since its founding, which have been instrumental in launching the immunotherapy revolution, now helping to combat thirty different cancers.

The Blacks are also deeply committed to supporting veterans. In 2014, Leon launched the Apollo Veterans Initiative, which promotes veteran hiring. The Black family also funds a veterans and military fellowship program which covers the cost of attendance at Harvard Kennedy, Business and Law Schools.
